Activity Description

Get to know the real story of Queen Victoria and admire Princess Diana’s most iconic dresses in one of the most elegant surroundings in London.

- Stroll through the picturesque Palace gardens
- See the beautiful jewels of Queen Victoria
- View some of Princess Diana´s most exquisite dresses

The feminine influence of generations of women in the English monarchy has shaped this stylish Palace and elegant gardens. The birthplace and childhood home of Queen Victoria, the Palace first became a royal residence for King William III and Queen Mary II in 1689. Mary felt 'caged- in' at Whitehall and much preferred her New Kensington home, which was extended for them by Sir Christopher Wren.

The famous Orangery was built in 1704 by Queen Anne, and George I's wife, Queen Caroline, another keen gardener, added further improvements. Today, the Palace houses a stunning permanent display of Queen Victoria’s personal items and dresses worn by Diana, Princess of Wales.

With your ticket, you will also gain access to the new exhibition - Diana - Her Fashion Story.
Trace the evolution of the Princess’s style, from the demure, romantic outfits of her first public appearances, to the glamour, elegance and confidence of her later life.

Don’t miss an extraordinary collection of garments, including Victor Edelstein’s iconic ink blue velvet gown, famously worn at the White House when the Princess danced with John Travolta.

The Princess’s relationship with her favorite designers is explored through a display of original fashion sketches created for her during the design process. In addition, a recently discovered blue tartan Emanuel suit will go on display to the public for the first time. This suit was worn by Diana on an official visit to Venice in the 1980s.

English, German, French, Italian, Spanish and Japanese.
