Town of Glassmaking and Sports
Welcome to Harrachov, mountain resort in Krkonose, biggest mountain range in Czech Republic. There are plenty of summer and winter activities to do here.

Harrachov is one of the oldest ski areas in Czech Republic. That is why so many people come here each year to either learn or master the art of skiing and snowboarding. There are plenty of ski schools here if you're just beginning.

Do you like to relax while having vacation? There are many short trails here in the beautiful nature for you to forget everyday stress and to relax your body and soul.

Here are some places that you can visit during your stay:

Exceptional Waterfall
You can not visit Harrachov without visiting Mumlava Waterfall! It is one of the largest one in Czech Republic. It is accessible your round and you can be sure that every time you’ll see it, it will look slightly different.

Unique Natural Beauty
One of the best spots to visit in the whole Krkonose National Park. Unique waterfall is 10 meters tall and 10 meters wide. Carved out of single piece of granite by rushing water. Waterfall is different every time you’ll see it. Different amount of water in the river makes it quite unpredictable. In the winter, it is completely frozen over, but you can still hear the water rushing down under the ice. In the spring, when the snow melts, the stream is strongest. Water is so loud, you can barely hear someone speak and the force of the water is brutal. In the summer, water just trickles down, you can jump into the river and cool down, it is very peaceful then.

Popular Tourist Target Makes it Great Starting Point For Longer Trips
Mumlava Waterfall could be great destination, but also solid starting point for longer trips. There is an asphalt route right along the river, that you can use for walking as well as biking. There are many more destinations further up like Vosecka bouda, Pramen Labe, Labska Bouda, Ruzencina zahradka or Polish Szrenicza.

Winter Activities

Downhill skiing in Harrachov has a long lasting tradition. Ski area is equipped with modern snowmaking at each run, has two chair lifts and two tow lifts. There are 4 runs here with all stages of difficulty. Steepest black run is one of he steepest slopes in Czech. All runs are maintained every day at the end of the day.

Cross Country Heaven
Harrachov is well known resort for it’s downhill skiing, ski jumping but there is also pretty god Cross Country Skiing here. There are two 7.5km long circuits right at the bottom of main chairlift. They are most of the time well maintained.

Harrachov is also good starting point for longer trips and favorite destinations are Dvoracky, Vosecka Bouda or longer circuits Terex. Longer routes are usually maintained once a week or after bigger snow storm.

If you're seeking well maintained tracks and treat terrain, you have to visit Jakuszyce in Poland. Jakuszyce are only 2.5km away from Harrachov and you won’t be disappointed.

Mellow slopes for learning
Harrachov is perfect for learning how to snowboard. You have 4 runs here with every possible difficulty. Easiest way to learn is to hire an instructor, but if you decide to learn on your own, you should go to tow lift at the bottom of the hill first. this place is very wide and has consistent pitch.

For more experienced snowboarders there is still room to improve at local slopes. Unfortunately, there is only very small und usually poorly maintained terrain park with couple of boxes.

Secret touring spot in Krkonose
Ski touring is somehow always connected with high alpine peaks, but it is not entirely truth. You can enjoy touring in smaller mountain like Krkonose. Harachov has more than enought suitable terrain.

For very beginners, there are cross country tracks with about 15 km of terrain. Way more terrain is located on the other side of the walley.

You can coose rather traditional route along Mumlava river towards Vosecka bouda. Or more adventurous route that starts behing Norma crocery store and will take you to Alfredka.

Across Krkonose on Cross Country Skis
This track will best suit to advanced skiers with good physical condition and that is mainly due to the lenght of the track. Less skilled skiers can enjoy parts of the whole track. Tour starts in Harrachov and ends in Zacler and it is 71 km long.

In Harrachov, you will start behind bus station, alond Mumlava river. You will have to ascent to Vosecka bouda and then towards Spindleruv Mlyn. Then you have to follow the signs towards Zacler. It is recommende to have 2 days reserved for this trip.

Harrachov is a town in Semily District, Liberec Region, in the northern Czech Republic, close to the border with Poland.
